A Rollar Coaster Ride of a Game. Cubs Win!

Alright… so. The Brewers need to lose, and the Mets need to win. I forgot that the Brewers and Cubs cant face off (thanks to a source).. but I’d still rather see the Mets than the Brewers… I mean come on…

Alright… the Mets won their game 2-0. So the Brewers need to lose.

  • TOP 1st- DARYLE WARD HITS 2 RUN HOMER!!!!!!! 2-0 Cubs
  • TOP 2nd- Blanco gets a single. Lilly gets a ground rule double! Nice hit Lilly!!!
  • BOT 2nd- 21 strikes and 4 balls throw by Lilly. So far so good.
  • TOP 3rd- Bases loaded for Fontenot, and A BASE HIT TO RIGHT!! 2 RBI’S FOR FONTENOT!!!!!!!!! 4-0! YEAH FONTENOT!!!!!!!!! pitching change, they’re taking Weeks out.. yikes. Bases are loaded again. 2 outs… come on! MORE RBI’S!!! 
  • BOT 6th- Lilly is HOT! No hits or runs so far. LETS GO LILLY!
  • TOP 7th- Ted Lilly gives up his first hit… Pie MISSES IT! DAMN IT! COME ON DONT LET THE BALL DROP!!!!!!!! Lilly is done. Carlos Marmol is TAKIN’ OVER! Braun tags and scores. 4-1.
  • BOT 8th- ARE YOU FRICKEN KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! PIE DROPPED THE BALL AGAIN!?! COME ON!! CATCH THE DAMN BALL! THIS ISNT LITTLE LEAGUE ANYMORE! they keep blowing the lead. 4-3. FIELDER SHOULD’VE BEEN OUT. BUT NO. THE CUBS BLOW IT AGAIN, AND NOW ITS 4-3. PIE CANT CATCH THE BALL. come on!!!!!!!!!! The Mets won THIS SHOULD BE GOOD FOR US. now Wuertz is pitching…. FINALLY. they got the out at home. still 4-3. Got the force out at 2. inning over.. but the damage is done YET AGAIN.
  • TOP 9th- FINALLY. Ryan Theriot is batting. LETS GO THERIOT! START A RIOT! YES! Hardy bobbles it!!!! FUKUDOME HITS A 2 RUN HOMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jason Marquis’ Grand Slam Ignites a Flame in Cubs! 95-60!!!

We’re starting with the 2nd inning because that’s when the scoring started.

  • TOP 2nd- Reed Johnson singles scoring Mark DeRosa. 1-0
  • BOT 2nd- Marquis strikes out Carlos Beltran. Mets tie it up on a wild pitch. 1-1.
  • BOT 3rd-  Murphy gets an RBI for the Mets. 2-1 Mets. Marquis strikes out another.
  • TOP 4th-  Soto hits a double to the leftfield corner. DeRosa hits a single! Soto is on 3rd. DeRo is on 1st. 0 outs. Reed Johnson has a basehit!!! Soto scores! tied 2-2!! THERIOT gets a single. No one scores. Bases loaded. 0 outs.  JASON MARQUIS HITS A GRAND SLAM!!!! HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!! YEAH MARQUIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6-2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW. DERREK LEE HAS A SOLO HOMERUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7-2 CUBS!!! YEAH BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARAMIS RAMIREZ HAS A DOUBLE! wow! they batted through the order!!! Soto is up again! WOW. he strikes out but WHO CARES?!?! We got 6 runs in ONE INNING!
  • BOT 4th- Theriot starts the 6-4-3 double play. WOO. 2 outs. Soriano makes a catch. 1,2,3.
  • TOP 5th- Theriot has ANOTHER basehit!!!! Advancing Pie to 3rd. ALRIGHT THERIOT. Marquis has a grounder, gets Theriot out at 2nd. Pie scores. 8-2.
  • BOT 5th- Marquis gets another K.
  • BOT 6th- Castillo hits it to Theriot, who flips it to Cedeno who throws it to Lee! 6-4-3 DOUBLE PLAY!  Three outs.
  • TOP 7th- DeRosa has a nice hit but….Ouch….Beltran makes a nice catch and CRASHES into the wall…. he’s down.. ouch, he knocked the wind outta himself…. he’s up. That was a nice catch.
  • BOT 7th- Theriot makes an error… he tried to rush it…. it shouldve been Cedeno’s ball. Oh well.. SHOOT. 2 run homer…. 8-4. Bullpen CALL!! Cotts is in. Theriot makes the play, throws it to Lee. YES. There you go THERIOT! 2 outs! and THERIOT makes the catch! 3 outs!
  • TOP 8th- Theriot is up. 3-1 is the count. Dont be quiet, START THE RIOT!!!! He walks. Nicely done Theriot. alright well they dont score…
  • BOT 8th- Cotts hits a batter.. alright Jeff Samardjiza is coming in.. rough. but gets 3 outs.
  • TOP 9th- Aramis is at 3rd. Daryle Ward is up. 3-0 for Ward.. and he walks. 1st and 3rd two outs. Pie is up. He hits a blooper to the infielder he’s… SAFE! Ramirez scores. 9-4. 1st and 2nd 2 outs. Theriot is up! START A RIOT! BASE HIT!!!! YEAH THERIOT! 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks!!! NICE! Bases loaded! Pitching Change for the Mets.. Fukudome is up. And he pops it up to 3rd…
  • BOT 9th-  Marmol is in to close the game. 1,2,3 Marmol. HE GONE. One K for Marmol. Shoot. 2nd and 3rd.. 1 out. We need a double play. Beltran grounds out. Gets an RBI. 9-5. Two outs. Come on Marmol. End it. Walk… 1st and 3rd 2 outs. COME ON! Let’s end this. Kerry Wood is coming in. KERRY WOOD STRIKES HIM OUT. CUBS WIN.
